Players clean up the kitchen laboratory of a home biotech enthusiast using weapons such as dish cloths and egg flippers. The player is attacked by nasty mutant vegetables which are the product of genetic nouvelle cuisine, and learns throughout the game of a world wide corporate conspiracy to take over the entire food chain.

The Cardiomorphologies series explores the subjective spaces created through interaction with a simple geometric visualisation of realtime heart and breath rate data. The installation is comprised of one large foor-to-ceiling video projection, that is controlled by heart and breath signals from the participant who is seated a few meters way.

Interactive Multiuser Immersive Multimedia Environment by Tim Gruchy

Commisioned for 2nd Asian Art Biennial, Taichung

Clesthyra is a fictional mythological character from Neil Stephenson’s Anathem, who can see in all directions at once. This works breaks down and subverts that possibility. It subtly draws the audience’s attention within the 360º screen space, playing with the shifting boundaries between disambiguity and ambiguity. The work moves its audience.

Conversations is an experimental Distributed Multi-User Virtual Environment forming the central focus of an Australian Research Council funded study that investigated the reformulation of narrative within digital cinema. It offers viewers an immersive multi-modal interactive narrative experience dealing with the events leading up to the escape, recapture, trial and hanging of Ronald Ryan at Pentridge Prison, Melbourne in 1967, the last person publicly executed in Australia.

Conversations@the Studio presents an innovative mixed-reality narrative model of the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Decorative Arts collection within a uniquely designed Intelligent Interactive Information Environment. It takes the natural navigation of a real world situation – a contemporary Glass Studio – as its point of departure, using this as a framework for organizing a set of narrative formations that further elaborate the thematics of the collection.
